I had the same as Amy for my startup sound ("I welcome you and present
this place...") for quite a while. Though my favorite startup I think
was, "In Valen's name! It's awake!"
I had "You have the following messages" from The Hour of the Wolf for
my email alert. For a short, insane-making-but-funny while, I had
"Purple!" as my "Window Minimize" sound, and "Green." as my "Window
Maximize/Restore" sound. "Incorrect" from Kosh was an error message.
I'm tempted to go for the "In Valen's Name!" quote again. With the
operatic sweep behind it, it made logging on to my computer alone feel
like I'd accomplished something terrifying and dramatic.
