   The doorbell sound (3 low notes followed by one an octave higher) has    
   been my "you've got mail" sound for many years now.  If I'm within    
   earshot of my machine, on a customer site or in an office with many    
   others, I can tell if it's my mail that's arrived.  Plus, it isn't a    
   voice clip, which can irritate others much more than a simple chime.
