I used to have a whole folder full of movie sound clips that I mixed
and matched for Windows events. My generic error message was HAL
saying, "It can only be attributable to human error." "I think you
should lie down and take a stress pill" was also in there. I used a
version of the "ST:TMP/Next Gen" main theme music as my start-up
sound, and the Johnny W. Tarzan yell was assigned to something as
well. (Along with a number of clips from "Casablanca" and at least a
few from the original "King Kong" - which is due out on Blu Ray next
week, if memory serves - plus some Python and Marx Bros. stuff.)
Sadly I lost all those MP3 when I swapped out office PCs a few years
ago. (Sheer carelessness on my part. Forgot to back up the
folder.) I've never had the time to assemble a similar array of
sound files, so nowadways I just go with the boring, built-in sounds.
   Regards,
