   Funny coincidence dept:  Last night I had a dream I was attending an   
   SF convention (something I haven't done in real life going on 30   
   years) and Harlan was one of the guests.  As a charity fundraising   
   stunt he was challenging fans to a "type-off" - him on a battered old   
   Remington portable, fans on a computer running Open Office - to see   
   who did better on timed typing tests.   He was moslty winning.   
   I almost never remember my dreams when I wake up, and those I do   
   remember pretty much never involve Harlan Ellison.    Make of all   
   of this what you will, but I have to admit hearing a bit of the   
   "Twilight Zone" theme in my head as I read your post.
