   Personally, I find IiRT so disturbing and uncomfortable that I   
   routinely skip it when viewing through the season, so as a first   
   episode, I think it would have been a disaster. You would have had to   
   have a filler episode, where everyone reacted to the capture,   
   Garibaldi bemoaned his fate, etc. before going into what was happening   
   to the captain...
