Normally, fall is quite pleasant up here, as long as you arrive after the
Jewish holidays, that is. (No matter when the Jewish holidays fall, we
nearly always get a surge of Indian summer on those days, and it can be quite
   hot.)
Having said that, with the summer we just had, who *knows* how fall lis going
to be this year?! Yesterday, in Philadelphia ‹ a mere 100ish miles from New
York ‹ it was nearly 100 degrees! In September! Probably your best bet is
to watch the forecasts closer to your arrival, but plan on bringing light
clothing with a jacket for the evenings.
