But the constitution of the Soviet Union had       > better words about freedom than the US one yet they still ended up a       > dictatorship.       Well, _Galactic Patrol_ was initially serialized between late 1937 and        early 1938, so the US wasn't yet in WWII. _Children of the Lens_ was        serialized between late 1947 and late 1948, so it's post-war.       Notice how the villians tend to have Germanic names (Helmuth, Jalte) in        the first two, then in the last, they have Russian names (Melankov, if        I recall correctly)?
