   That's OK.  I think I'll make things clearer.   
   The two major parties (the liberal Labor Party (remember in Australia   
   labour is spelt "our") and the conservative Liberal/National coalition   
   (who during the debate over the recent hung election complained   
   because it had more votes (Liberal Party votes plus Country Party   
   votes plus WA Country Party votes plus Queensland LNP votes) than the   
   Labor Party so it wasn't fair that the Labor Party formed government   
   with support from the Greens and Independants) are pushing for the   
   first-past-the-post system because, obviously, it favours the major   
   parties, hense the ability to "vote above the line" in Senate   
   elections.
