MSGID: 2:292/854 153a3966       TZUTC: 0100       The Israeli cabinet has announced plans to build a new international airport.       Another airport is already under construction.               The new airport is to be built in Ziklag, approximately fifteen kilometers       from the Gaza Strip. It is approximately 75 kilometers from Tel Aviv Ben       Gurion Airport, the country's largest airport with 19.1 million passengers per       year.               The government also wants to further develop the airport at Ramat David, near       the border with Lebanon.               "Only in this way can we truly respond to the growing demand from tourists and       air travel for the many millions of people who come to the country every       year," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address to the       ministers.               Eilat, in southern Israel, is currently the country's second-largest airport.       However, this airport is only used for limited international air traffic.              --- DB4 - 20230201        * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854)       SEEN-BY: 80/1 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 218/700       SEEN-BY: 221/1 226/30 227/114 229/110 112 134 206 317 400 426 428       SEEN-BY: 229/470 664 700 705 280/464 291/111 292/854 2226 8125 301/1       SEEN-BY: 320/219 322/757 335/364 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848       SEEN-BY: 902/26 5001/100 5075/35       PATH: 292/854 229/426           |
