MSGID: 2:292/854 1e2b1663       TZUTC: 0200       American aircraft manufacturer Boeing must pay $28.45 million (24.56 million       Euro) in damages to the widower of a victim of the 2019 Ethiopian Airlines       crash. A Chicago jury made the ruling in the first civil lawsuit against       Boeing over the two fatal crashes of 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which claimed a total       of 346 lives in 2018 and 2019.               In March 2019, the Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi       crashed six minutes after takeoff, killing 157 people from 35 countries.       Families of 155 victims sued Boeing between April 2019 and March 2021. At the       start of the trial, there were eleven other charges. Three other charges have       since been settled out of court.               In the end, the jury only considered the case of the relatives of Shikha Garg,       a woman from the Indian city of Delhi who was on the Ethiopian Airlines flight.              --- DB4 - 20230201        * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854)       SEEN-BY: 80/1 105/81 106/201 128/187 129/14 305 153/7715 154/110 218/700       SEEN-BY: 221/1 226/30 227/114 229/110 112 317 400 426 428 470 664       SEEN-BY: 229/700 705 280/464 291/111 292/854 2226 8125 301/1 320/219       SEEN-BY: 322/757 335/364 342/200 396/45 460/58 633/280 712/848 902/26       SEEN-BY: 5001/100 5075/35       PATH: 292/854 229/426           |
