|    Flight delayed due to ... bees in the en    |

A swarm of bees caused a nuisance at the King Shaka airport in the South       African city of Durban. The insects had landed en masse in the engine of a       plane from airline Mango. It called bee-keepers to remove the approximately       20,000 bees.               Because of the unusual destination of the bees, three flights were delayed, a       spokesman for the airline said. Mango distributed via Twitter a photo showing       how beekeepers made the motor "bee-free" again. It was the first time that a       flight from Mango had to be postponed due to such an incident.               Removal company "A Bee C" talked about a "hectic" operation. It took a while       before the team was cleared to work on the plane. Also, certain tools and       products could not be used for fear that the plane could be damaged.               An expert told News24 that the bees probably only "made a stopover" in the       engine.              --- D'Bridge 3.99 SR33        * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854)    |
