|    Two dead in landing gear bay of an A320    |

MSGID: 2:292/854 1333325c       TZUTC: 0100        Two bodies were found in the landing gear of an Airbus A320neo from Avianca on       Friday evening during inspection work in the Colombian capital Bogota. It       concerns the discovery of two young men between the ages of 15 and 20 years.               Flight AV116 had departed from Santiago de Chile earlier in the day. According       to official information from the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority, two       people were found dead in the landing gear during the subsequent maintenance       inspection.               The bodies found would have been frozen. Both men may have already crawled       into the landing gear bay earlier this month in the Dominican Republic.               It is more common for illegal immigrants to resort to hiding in the holds or       landing gear compartments of aircraft, a fact that often leads to tragedies       such as on Avianca flight AV116.               Higher altitude outside an aircraft is a deadly environment due to the extreme       cold and the ultra low oxygen levels.               --- DB4 - MidniteSpecial        * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 80/1 90/1 105/81 106/201 120/340 123/131 129/305       SEEN-BY: 153/7715 221/1 226/30 227/114 229/110 111 112 113 114 307       SEEN-BY: 229/317 400 424 426 428 470 664 700 280/464 282/1038 292/854       SEEN-BY: 292/8125 301/1 317/3 320/219 322/757 335/364 342/200 396/45       SEEN-BY: 460/58 633/280 712/848       PATH: 292/854 229/426           |
