|    Drunk flight attendant    |
|    13 Aug 19 10:08:35    |
MSGID: 2:292/854 0c103056       On a United Express flight from Chicago to South Bend, the passengers were       frightened after the only flight attendant on the plane turned out to be       drunk. She could barely speak or stand upright and slept most of the journey.               The incident occurred last Friday on United flight 4849, but was only picked       up by US media yesterday. Because the flight was conducted with a small       Bombardier CRJ200, there was no other cabin crew on board.               The startled passengers wanted to inform the pilots after their arrival in       South Bend about the stewardess's drunkenness, but they were already aware of       it. The police were ready to arrest the woman. She later stated that she had       two shots of vodka in the morning.               The 49-year-old stewardess has since been fired. She has to appear in court       soon and can then receive a maximum of half a year in prison. United has       offered financial compensation to the passengers on flight 4849.               On a lighter note, someone commented that when you're from South Bend, it's       appropriate to get drunk in Chicago.              --- D'Bridge 3.99        * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/2 153/757 221/1 226/17 229/275 354 426 728 1014       SEEN-BY: 240/5832 249/317 400 261/38 280/464 292/854 8125 317/3 322/757       SEEN-BY: 335/364 342/200 396/45 633/280 801/188 3828/7       PATH: 292/854 229/426           |
