TW> He was looking for a 10-40 Automobile Synthetic.

He was looking for a thicker oil than the 5w-40 that he had been using.

Where he lives, he could use a 20w-50 and get the same desired effect.

What he's trying to do is lower the possibility of that noisy lifter
leaking down. Going to a heavier viscosity might be the answer to less
   leak down.

TW> Isn't the Mobile-1 10-40 Motocycle oil designed for wet clutch
    TW> Motorcycles??

You would get a better answer from someone with more experience in wet
clutch operation. From what I hear, some people have slipping problems
when they switch to a synthetic and some don't. Most people use the
dealer recommended oil, whatever that is.
