RW>> The 1949-55 1/2 Chevy pickups are my favorite among early
RW>> Chevies...That they also used the same look on the Suburban is
RW>> interesting. If you take that model in pickup form and want a 20
RW>> (3/4 ton) or 30 (1 ton) series, they increased the size of the
RW>> body, but kept the pickup look. Behind the pizza restaurant here in
RW>> New Braunfels, there is a 1950s 30 series tow truck and you can see
RW>> the difference in size, especially on cruise night when the 50s
RW>> pickups show up...there's also a 'fire engine' 30 series in a local
RW>> antique shop down the road from here.

RN> I had an '84 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 410 rear end. Not good for driving
RN> on the highway unless you were pulling something heavy. (-: I had a
RN> flat on the left-rear almost in the middle of nowhere one morning and
RN> had to use that ridiculous scissors jack that came with the truck.
RN> It took 45 minutes. And then, to add insult to injury, a girl came
RN> out of the one house nearby and said "My dad wants to know if you
    RN> need help." Too late.

I threw the scissor jack away that came in my 72 and replaced it with a
hydraulic bottle jack. My 02 came with a screw type bottle jack...but I
don't really have a need for a jack these days, I call road service
   instead.

RN>>> I managed to get a FREE (SIL paid for it) JVC AM-FM stereo radio/cd
RN>>> player for the Benz yesterday. It is very nice and came with a
RN>>> remote control, although I don't know why they make the remotes
RN>>> with the radio so close.

RW>>> Put it in the trunk and then you'll know why they make them with
    RW>>> remotes.

    RN>> [Rhetorical mode on]
RN>> Put what in the trunk? The radio or the remote? (-:
    RN>> [Rhetorical mode off]

RW>> If you mount the radio in the dash and put the remote in the trunk,
RW>> you'll know where the remote is supposed to be when you're driving
RW>> the car and want to change stations.

RN> I can do that with the push of a button and without looking. (-:[

Yeah, but you don't get to change the battery in the remote when it quits
   working. 8^)

RN>>> The AUX recepticle is broken temporarily; something I plug my cell
RN>>> phone into, but the mechanic knows how to fix it and will at some
RN>>> point in the near future. [...]

    RW>>> LOL! Sure he will.

RN>> No. This guy is different. He's one of those rare people who, when
RN>> they tell you they're going to do something, they do.

    RW>> Ok...we'll see.

RN> "Skeptic? I trust you have proof!" (-:

   Is it fixed yet?

    RN>>>> Nah, I got all I can handle with the M-B. (-:

RW>>>> I hear that. That one is kinda like owning a Jaguar...they usually
RW>>>> sit in the mechanic's garage waiting on repairs.

RN>> Except the M-B engine does not require the constant attention that a
RN>> Jaguar does. I filled the tank yesterday, even though it wasn't
RN>> empty, but close and it cost $48.37 for 12.281 gallons of premium at
    RN>> $3.93.3 per gallon.

RW>> $3.93.9/gallon. This is why the Z28 sits more than it is driven.

    RN> Yeah, I corrected that.

RW>> I'm still working on a tank of premium that I put in it last fall
    RW>> (Sept)...

RN> Do you run the engine regularly?

No. The car is equipped with a Deltran Battery Tender.

RN>>> The Benz would probably still be in the garage if I hadn't gone by
RN>>> there and told them what I thought the problem was. Some guys like
RN>>> to make a mountain out of a mole hill when the solution is so
RN>>> simple as to escape their motice. (-:

RW>>> That helps to pad their wallets... 8^)

    RN> I'm on to that.

Having been a 'dealer' employee, I'll bet you are. 8^)

RN>> This guy was recommended to me years ago (in my other lifetime in
RN>> Houma) and someone recommended him to my SIL, who can't find the
RN>> title to the Benz in order to donate it to me. He's gonna have to
RN>> go to the DMV for a copy. (-|

    RW>> @8(

    RN>     7:->]

   I've heard that story before.
