TW> The lawsuit stems from a 2008 settlement. GM agreed to pay up to 35       TW> million vehicle owners as much as $800 for engine and cooling system       TW> failures linked to its "Dex-Cool" system. Most of the claims were       TW> settled prior to GM's 2009 bankruptcy, but some owners were left without       TW> compensation.              I do remember reading about that lawsuit, but never received anything. My       2002 Monte Carlo should have been part of that settlement.               The did work with me the first time I had problems, however. It would have       cost $1500 to replace the lower intake gasket back when my car had only 65k on       it and was leaking antifreeze (Dex-Cool). I use the work "leak" loosely - as       it was streaming out all around the lower intake gasket like a waterfall. I       couldn't drive more than 20 miles and would be low on antifreeze after just       refilling it.              The did all the work for $300 at the dealership.              Naturally, they still used Dex-Cool again (before I knew any better), and I       had another leak in the lower intake gasket again with 146k on it.              I now have a rebuilt Jasper motor with the good old "Yellow" antifreeze.              Just went over 165k yesterday.              - Mark               --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
