-> CH> Last summer I pulled the 350 gasoline engine and swapped in a       -> CH> Cummins 4BT...       ->       -> Very nice, but I would have liked to see a more detailed picture of t       -> because I'm not familiar with that one. All in all, however, even a       -> can tell that many man hours and $$$ went into that project. It's       -> just what I need to get higher up from the ground than I now enjoy       -> in my Mark VIII. (-: Plus, I have to use 93 octane gas and it's       -> back up to $4 a gallon again.              The Cummins engine is a four cylinder version of the '89-'93 Dodge truck       6BT engine. A lot of parts interchange. It's a common swap in many       Ford and Chevy delivery vans. This came out of a Ford.              The swap into a Blazer is also fairly common. A lot of offroaders do       that. This is my daily driver. That's why I went with a close ratio       Ford T-19 transmission. The factory Chevy SM-465 transmission is a 6.55       first gear and non-synchro. The T-19 is synchro and 4.02 ratio. One       project I'm considering is buying a Richmond 6 speed with the same 4.00       first gear and adapting the NP205 transfer case. Six speeds with       overdrive would be sweet.              If there are any pictures of the Blazer/Cummins swap you want, let me       know. When the weather improves over here I can do that.              -c-              --- ViaMAIL!/WC v1.60d        * Origin: Chowdanet (401-724-4410) telnet://chowdanet.com (1:323/120)    |
