RW> That's about all you can do in a liberal state like CA. Until the people
RW> figure out that it's the liberals who've screwed up their lives, they'll
RW> have to live with who and what they've elected to run things.

When more than half of the state works for the government - either directly or
indirectly, then you have a problem. That sums up the issues in MD, right
   there.

It does make for a great commute to work on government holidays, however. :)

RW> There may be hope for MD yet.

Only if all these people are forced to start working in the private sector,
   things will change.

RW> Somebody should tell the crotch-rocket riders to slow down. I hear a lot
RW> of radio noise, both police and CB, about bikers being stupid. Like
   RW> riding
RW> at 120mph on the freeway because they can. Another one got wiped out on
   RW> the freeway yesterday.

We have the same problem here. Doing wheelies, passing cars in between lanes,
etc. They are just an accident waiting to happen.

I saw one crash on I-95 when I was riding one day. He was going over 100mph,
zig-zagging, etc. Clipped a car and ended up crashing on the median. Lucky
for him it looked like he was ok other than some massive road rash.

RW> During my early years (1950s&60s) on the back of a Triumph, I used to
   RW> ride
RW> with a pack of locals. All mixed bikes, but all of us with the same ideas
RW> of what riding was about.

Before I was re-married and had another child, I had more time to ride with
friends. Our schedules are just too busy these days for it now. Most of my
riding these days is going to/from work.
