I was so used to       the very strict dmv rules in California, being in Texas was like being       given your freedom after 39 years of living in a dictatorship.               RW>> I've never been comfortable riding on public roads. They're unseen by most       motorists.               MH> We have many deer around here. In the fall, it is their mating        MH> season and they tend to be way more active. I can't drive on a road        MH> to work without seeing a dead one on the side of the road that was        MH> hit by a vehicle.              That's what it's like here too. The difference is that we know there's a       dead somthing on the side of the road by the presence of vultures flying       over head. If it's a squirrel, there may be one or two, but a deer calls       for 5 to 10 vultures.               RW>> We had a youngster who had a crotch rocket before he took the class.        RW>> He ended up crashing it before the end of the class...dunno what        RW>> happened to him after that.               MH> One of the guys in my class failed the riding test. He went back the        MH> following week for a re-test, and failed again. Went back a third        MH> time and failed a third time. To my knowledge, he never passed - but        MH> not sure if he rides anyway.              We had one other person from the town where I live; he wanted to ride with       me and a friend of mine, but I never heard from him after the class ended.                      R\%/itt                      ...
