RW> The difference is in the differential gears...the trans is the same.              Do the differential gears have an effect on having the car cruise at higher       RPMs?               The other thing I noticed is how well the torque converter works. After my       transmission rebuild (which was done because my 4th gear O/D was not working),       my torque converter was slipping in and out at times. Mainly after going up a       high hill. I started thinking what could be causing that and it turned out to       be about 2 quarts too much fluid.               I suctioned out two quarters to get it in the range better and the torque       converter no longer slips.               What was happening is when I would go up hills, it was moving the high level       of fluid around and creating bubbles. Air pockets in the fluid is not good       and is typically caused from it being over filled.               It was a simple fix and I learned something along the way.              RW> Fortunately, our governor is out of state, campaigning for Prez...              I'm sure our gov will try the same thing on the next election - and it scares       the **** out of me.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
