RW> There is a RF chip in the steering column that is related to your       RW> security       RW> system, but I'm told you can't fix it yourself. You can/should take it to       RW> a Ford dealer and they can scan the CPU to find your problem and fix it       RW> for you. I'd ask them to diable it if they can...              That makes sense. My daughter told me that sometimes when she hits a bump, it       will trip the alarm system. Then juggling with the keys on the ignition, it       will go back off. I guess it isn't as simple as just removing it.. That would       probably disable the car, completely.              RW> I found the RF chip and it's location, but the schamtics didn't load, so       RW> I       RW> can't tell you much more about it.              I appreciate your efforts!               RW> I'm told by two mechanics (Chevrolet manager and a service-man) that you       RW> can't fix it... Knowing them like I do, I'd trust their word on it.              That is fine.. I know we would be happy if we could just disable it, but that       doesn't sound like an easy task.               Thanks again.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
