|    Rear Defroster Repair.    |

Like happens to many people, about 4 years ago one of my rear defroster       connectors disconnected from the rear window. I tried several different       methods to get it reconnected, only to have them eventually fall back off. I       had given up for a few years and just lived with no rear defroster.              Last year, I found a website that had suggestions on fixing that type of       problem. Basically using silver epoxy (stuff you can use on circuit boards,       etc). Mixing that together to bond the connector back to the window       worked like a champ!               Just a few days ago for some reason I have been smelling burnt plastic when I       have it turned on. I noticed the wire is getting really hot and melting the       plastic cover near where the wire runs to the window.               I know that wire and area gets hot, but for some reason it started melting       that cover. I checked for shorts, but it appears ok. Maybe I just need to       keep that wire from touching anything - or replace a section (the end part) of       the wire.               - Mark               --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
