RW> TW> Does my vehicle qualify for a smog exemption?

RW> TW> Smog inspections are required unless your vehicle is:

   RW> TW> * Hybrid
RW> TW> * Gasoline powered 1975 year model or older

RW>Interesting. The cats from that year weren't much good for anything but
RW>clogging up the exhaust system when they aged...and now they're exempt
   RW>from smog inspections.

The otherside of that coin is that except for a few diehard collectors
there are very few left on the road.

RW> TW> * Diesel powered manufactured prior to 1998 or with a Gross
   RW> TW> Vehicle
RW> TW> Weight rating (GVWR) of more than 14,000 lbs
   RW> TW> * Electric
RW> TW> * Natural gas powered with a GVWR rating of more than 14,000 lbs.
   RW> TW> * Motorcycle

RW>They fail to mention that 2 cycle motorcycles aren't allowed in
RW>California. Nor are gasoline lawn mowers in LA...

Only the Sale of 2 stroke motorcycles is not allowed as I recall. But
again there are very few left since they have not been sold for so many
years. I always had a love for the 2 stroke 500 CC Suzuki. But after a
couple of friends got killed by the Typical clueless drivers here I
   dropped that dream.

   RW> TW> * Trailer

RW>My car trailer would be exempt? Wonders will never cease...

I think that was put in there because of Trailers with Generators in
   mind.
It is a mind boggiling concept though the even mention them as being
   exempt.
Note that the Exemption for iesel Cars, Thanks to the Oldsmobile Diesel
fiasco, and that even the smaller Propane or Natural gas vehicles need
   to be tested.
Even though they burn VERY clean as compaired to Gasoline.
