   What about the older cars that were made before emmissions?  Or restored   
   classics?

   There are people that would drive around forever with the check engine light   
   on if it wasn't for the emissions testing here.     
      
   Personally, I wouldn't be one of them because I know that you are probably   
   getting horrible gas mileage if one of your sensors is not working properly or   
   you have an emissions problem.  Not to mention possible damage to the engine.
