   I noticed what is called a drive shaft support and the whole thing looks like   
   rubber or a compound with a metal base.  It's cheap enough to replace if i do   
   it myself.  I remember the same thing being on some Chevy trucks with a split   
   drive shaft, only those had a sealed bearing inside the hole.
