TW> It that ias a junction between the Flexible hose and a Metal pipe it       TW> cannot be reapired. The whole piece needs to be replaced.              It is farther down-stream from that flexable hose to metal pipe spot. This       area is metal to metal, but the area that I see the glow is around the tube       itself going into a metal housing that is sort of rectangular. That connects       to another rectangular housing and the line continues to the from of the car       near the radiator.              TW> Yes some do use "C" clips.       TW>        TW> The inner joint can get really noisy before they really need replacing.       TW> But don't delay too long.       TW> I let the wife drive a car with a noisy outer joint until it broke.       TW> Fortunatly is was while making a U Turn in the front of the house.              I'm pretty sure mine uses the "C" clips. No noise yet, and only a bit of       grease. Just a bit of vibration, but it has been like that for a few years.       It was a "remanufactured" CV axle. Should have known better than to not buy       new. My original was replaced around 88k miles and I now have almost 155k.               Things I have learned. Buy parts made in the USA and don't buy remanufactored       parts. The only exception being if you plan to sell the car soon.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
