They would put additives in it to bring it up to       par. I had an old Ford that would burn 4 quarts of oil every 25 miles and       my job was 28 miles from home. Had to stop half way and put in a couple of       quarts, every day. I fixed that Ford by buying a used but junk Ford and       swapped engines.               R\%/itt                      ...
