RW> TW>> You might want to try a 5-30 FULL Synthetic oil. It should fill up       RW> TW>> the hydraulic lifters faster and reduce the cold startup noise. I       RW> TW>> personnaly woudl not recomend using a 5-XX non synthetic oil unless       RW> TW>> the weather is really cold              RW> MH> I have never used synthetic oil in my car before, only the Harley.              RW>High performance Chevrolets (Corvette and Camaro) come with Mobil One in       RW>the crankcase. Plus they use a synthetic transmission fluid in the 6spds       RW>and a synthetic rear end lube. ATF is synthetic these days too.                     I got 287,000 miles on the wifes 1993 Subaru using regular oil with       7,000 mile change interval. I was shooting for 300,000 but she(the Wife)       got very noisy when the antomatic trnsmission started arbituraly       shifting in and out of fourth speed.       She is now driving a 2010 Lease Returned Subaru.       I haven't bougth a New car since 1963 and for many years selected my       cars form the Consumer Reoorts WORST USED CAR list because they were       cheaper. I also selected only 50,000 mil;es or more cars and they al       served me very well.              ---        þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom Strkes Again        * Origin: Since 1991 And Were Still Here!
