No, it's more than that. When you use 110v at 10amps to run an electric
motor, it will cost you twice as much as a 220v motor, because the 220v
motor will use half the amps.

TW> There is very little difference is electrical KW usage of runing on
    TW> 110 or 220.

Except that the amperage used is twice as much in the 110v motor as it
would be in a 220v motor pulling the same load.

Power used in Watts is equal to Amperage times Voltage.

   Or,

Amps = Power in Watts divided by Voltage.

   5000 Watts of Power / 220v = 22.7 Amps.
   5000 Watts of Power / 110v = 45.5 Amps.

TW> Now of course the 110 motor consumes twice the amps but that is
TW> cancled out by twice the voltage used for a 220 motor.

Nope. As indicated above, 220v is more efficient than 110v...by 3 Amps.

And at the end of the day, you're not charged by the voltage used, but by
the Power you have consumed. If there's 220v available, why use 110v?

TW> The Kilowatt Metered usage onthe power company meter is the
    TW> same horsepower for horsepower.

As indicated above, equal power usage leads to doubled amperage use on a
110v motor thus leading to a higher bill at the end of the month.

Your bill is determined by how much wattage you use, not by how much
   horsepower your motor is rated.
