RN>TW> Living in Southern Califronia(Warmer Climate) I used Castrol 20-50 for              RN>Warmer that coastal Louisiana?              The Heat is about the same in my area. BUT the Humidity is typically       lower!! :-) :-)              RN>TW> many years. I have gone to a full synethic Penzoil for my Toyota       RN>TW> Truck(finally dumped my Piece of CRAP Chev S-10) and have High Miledge       RN>TW> Penzoil put in the Wifes Subaru with a little over 282,000 miles on it.              RN>I think GM has finally realized the error of their past ways -- 1957 Chevy B       RN>Air excepted -- what a beautiful car that was and still is, for those who st       RN>own one that runs.              In that era GM built soem very nice area and they lasted. Their Turbo       350 and 400 Auto trannies were almsot bullet proof. And the Chev Small       Block was a great piece of mastefull design.       Later though the Bean counters gained the upper hand and things like the       Turbo 200 Tranny was introduced. My Sister got TWO of those replaced in       her Buick Rivera under Warranty.       the Tranny in my Chev S-10 was specificly designes ONLY to last till the       Warranty Expired. Previously I had Two Mazda Frod Couriers and one       Mitisubshi/dodge D-50 pickups that were Great. Then being "Penny Wise       and Pound Foolish" I though I was saving a little over $2000 by buying       the Used(51,000 miles)Chev S-10 instead of a Used Toyota in the same       miledge range. BAD, BAD Move About 4 months after getting the Chev I       have to put more than $2000 into the Transmission. Adn it was just one       thing after another untill i dumped it with a little over 92,000 miles       on it and bought the Toyota with 81,000 miles. With then going 200,000       eaisly with reasonable PM I am set most likely for the rest of my       driving life.       ---        þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom Strkes Again        * Origin: Doc's Place BBS Fido Since 1991 docsplace.tzo.com (1:123/140)    |
