   it almost sounds to me like there's additional rubbing inside, somewhere,    
   which may be wearing the internal jacket causing sharp edges which could be    
   catching the cable... could it be that the new cables have been routed   
   incorrectly which may be adding an additional or more bend than the original   
   had?
