|    2003 Ford Expy Front End Noise    |

We've got the 2003 Eddie Bauer model, 4WD, 210,xxx miles - for a while I       thought the right front ball joint might need replacement (clunking noise over       bumps) until one day I noticed the plastic battery wedge was missing its bolt,       which allowed the battery to hop and move back and forth while the car is in       motion.               I replaced the bolt and it seems better but the sound didn't go       away, or it's a different/similar sound. The front bumper cowling has some       play in it, but before I take it in to a mechanic to check ball joint       clearance I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues?              The sway bar links look fine, no broken links as far as I can tell...               Also a creaking in the rear but I've narrowed that down to the friction       between the shock absorber and the bolt that holds it to the control arm (had       my son bounce up and down on the rear bumper while wrapping my hand around       the shock absorver and where the noise felt the strongest. Silicon spray       hasn't seemed to help. :P              --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A35 (Linux/32)        * Origin: The Vista BBS - Vallejo, CA USA (1:218/640)    |
