ml> don't fall for the stainless won't rust thing... it is not true... it is       ml> the nickle in the stainless that helps to prevent rust... i have two 1       ml> inch diameter stainless steel "pins" that are just over 1 foot long...       ml> one is nasty with rust and the other is quite shiny... both came out of       ml> the same batch of pins for the same machine (industrial pin mixer) at the       ml> same time... i also have several counter top distillers we use to distill       ml> our water... they all have a stainless steel bowl and every one of them       ml> rusts out...              I have yet to see stainless steel rust anywhere close to non-stainless steel.       The only other metal that I have seen on cars that holds up very well against       rust is aluminum.               By looking under my car, I can see drastic differences between the different       type sof metal material used on the cars. I'm still using the original       muffler on my 2002 Monte Carlo - which is stainless steel. The pipe joins       after the converter are rusted to nothing now, but the muffler is still       hanging in there and looks good.              Part of the frame looks to be aluminum and looks practically brand new.       Looking at the body panels, parts are rusting like crazy.               I have noticed the same thing on the 2001 Durango. Certain parts just rust       and fall apart and others don't - or at least not even close to as bad.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.51         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
