Little did that person realize that gas       will float on water.               MH> ABout 3 years ago (right before I got the new engine for my 02 Monte)        MH> my fuel pressure regulator started a slow leak. It was replaced again when I got my new engine.              That happened to my 72 Chevy pickup. The throttle shaft holes had worn out       enough that any gas that was left in the float bowl would run out of the       bowl (purcolate) and onto the throttle plates. If the engine wasn't       running, it would leak past the throttle shafts right on top of the       exhaust cross-over in the intake manifold.               MH> I still need to replace my fuel pump at some point to fix the        MH> float/gas guage. Not an emergency project. I'm just happy that won't        MH> involve dropping the tank. Just have to make sure all fittings are        MH> secure.              Ummmm. Make sure that you check out the gas line fittings used in that       car. They're not the same fittings as those used in earlier versions.       These take a special gas line wrench to open the line. Just a heads up for       you in case you're not familiar with them.                      R\%/itt                     ...
