CK> Hey all,       CK> I'm just wondering if the transmission should be flushed versus drained.       CK> I       CK> had heard a lot of talk with the process to flush and the caustic fluid       CK> used       CK> which could harm. In talking to the mechanics at the lube shop, he       CK> assures       CK> me this is not the case. I had it done on another vehicle and it was       CK> fine. I       CK> think the machine used may have sucked and pumped at the same time but I       CK> could be wrong. Also, does brake fluid need to flushed or are they just       CK> trying to make money of me?              The only time I have ever had anything done with transmission fluid was I had       to get a flush after my radiator failed and allowed the antifreeze to mix with       the transmission fluid. Even after the flush, the transmission fluid was not       perfect in red color.               I have heard two schools of thought on the tranmission fluid flush/drains.       Some people swear that not doing either is the best. Not sure there is a       right answer.              Never heard of replacing brake fluid.               - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.50         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
