|    Lower intake Manifold Gaskets.    |

Has anyone else experienced repeated problems with GM's lower intake manifold       gaskets? I know about the class action lawsuit that they lost concerning the       Dexcool antifreeze.              My 2002 Monte Carlo was only 4 years old and 70k miles on it when it sprung a       major lower intake manifold gasket leak. I managed to get GM to pay for most       of the repair - all but $300. It would have cost $1200.              Now with 145k miles, it has sprung another lower intake manifold leak. I have       been using the Yellow stuff ever since replacing the gasket the first time.              I love my car - but it seems like the same problems happen over and over with       it. Mainly the lower intake manifold gasket and wheel bearings.               I finally bought Timkin wheel bearing on my last swap when I replaced them.              I'm having the lower intake manifold gasket replaced next week at the shop,       since that is more work than I want to dive into. I might have the oil pan       gasket replaced at the same time, since that is also leaking a bit.               Otherwise, the car has been rock solid. Those gaskets seem to be the major       issues with GMs and or Dexcool.              I have been borrowing my brother's pickup truck until I have my car fixed so       not to cause any possible damage from the leak.              - Mark               --- WWIVToss v.1.40 Registered         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
