Down here, you swipe your card and enter your        RN> pin number; then select the grade of gas you want.               RW> We have the option of swiping the card and then answering the        RW> question; Credit or Debit. If credit, they ask for your zip code if        RW> debit, they ask for your pin. Then they ask questions like, do you        RW> want to add a car wash to your purchase, or a gasoline additive for        RW> more fuel economy, yes or no. Finally they ask, would you like a        RW> reciept? I always answer Yes in every instance on the        RW> receipt...then, after your card is approved, they tell you to lift        RW> the pump handle and select the grade of gas you want. Wait a few        RW> seconds and the selected fuel numbers change to all zeros and        RW> you're ready to pump...              Some places are like that and most of them read the card as issued. In my       case, I always use my debit card and the reader at the pump where I go, like       most of the gas stations here, recognize the card for what it is. So, the       only questions it prompts me for is my pin number, what grade of gas I want       and if I want a receipt or not.              Getting back to those independant owners, many of them close on weekends.(?)                     Regards,              Roger        --- timEd/386 1.10.y2k+        * Origin: NCS BBS - Houma, LA - (1:3828/7)    |
