It makes louder noises when turning sharp, especially going slow.       It also will shutter the entire car when under a light acceleration at times.       The car has 165k on it, so they are past due needing to be replaced. There is       no obvious signs of wear, but I just keep teller her to relax and not worrying       that it is the transmission - because it isn't. I have never replaced CVs       myself, but have done wheel bearings on my car. I'm hoping she finds someone       else to do the repair, as I'm not crazy about this one, but if I end up doing       it, I'm sure i will figure it out with help from AllData.              I am also getting concerned that one will snap - and told her we need to do       something about this sooner rather than later.               I just ordered a door striker for her Cougar - which has the electrical door       switch in it. Hard to find part - had to search dealers all over the country.       Ford stopped making it. Finally located one. Her dome light will come on at       times while driving the car, which then trips the car alarm - and it has even       shut the car off while driving once! I hate those alarm systems! Then to       reset it, you have to lock and unlock the car with the keypad. All this       because of a faulty door striker (which has the door open sensor in it). It       seems to happen more when it rains.              - Mark              --- WWIVToss v.1.40 Registered         * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0)    |
