   I'm still scratching my head, but the problem has yet to reappear.  The only   
   thing I did to it when inspecting was to add 1/2 can of R134a to top it off.   
   The reading on the top area of the "safe/green" area now.   
      
   The job will cost me a bit more since I don't have a vacuum pump, hose kit, or   
   tank to evacuate the system into.
