   that power it, limits the amount of distance one can go with an electric

   PS - When I was a kid, a bunch of us pooled our money and built a slot-car   
   dragstrip for 1/24th scale cars in the basement of an insurance company.   
   One of the guys used an electric motor that had dual shafts and mounted   
   his wheels and tires to it giving him a direct drive. All of this in a   
   1/24th scale 1963 Impala and it was fast to say the least. Unfortuntely,   
   we didn't have a long enough shut-down area after the finish line, so it   
   ran off the track and crashed into the wall. It was after that, that we   
   thought of reverse polarity in the shut down lanes.
