I've read about monetization of social media sites. I'm not sure how it
happens, it's not a thing for me. I mean not something I would be interested
   in.

I have posted a couple of videos on YouTube about 6 years ago. One of my
granddaughter's 7-8 birthday. She loves singing and performing for an
audience. I rescued some wooden shipping crates from my job that were being
thrown away and made a small stage. A neighbor was a guitar player and had a
decent sound system, so we set up for her to give a concert. I recorded them
on my phone and put them on Youtube for family and friends to see who couldn't
be there. She enjoyed herself, so it was worth it.

That's as far as I would ever go in the "I want to be famous" category, other
than wishing I could have better mixed the audio on it.

Yes. The I want yo be famous syndrome. I can't get into that mindset.
