As I see below.... and, as I keep slipping behind again, time just zips
   along... ;) About 21 days now... ;)

NB>> No issues from this side, but then I've not been seeing whatever
NB>> you think is the problem with it anyway.... ;)

MK> That is probably correct. From all the discussions we've had in the

MK> That is probably correct. From all the discussions we've had in the
MK> past I am assubing you will always see line lengths of 80 characters or
MK> less. As I type this I can look down and see on the editor's status
MK> line that this particular line is 260 characters.
MK> -={ ye olde cut and paste ends }=-
MK> However from your perspective the cut and paste is more than likely
MK> exactly the same as the original.

They were identical lengths in the original message, but something weird
seems to have happened when they were quoted... no idea why the quoter
would clip sooner on the first than on the second at the end of the
   second line... :)

MK> Probably a better example would be
    MK> to split the 260 character line to 60 characters to see a difference;
MK> -={ ye olde cut and paste starts }=-
MK> That is probably correct. From all the discussions we've

MK> -={ ye olde cut and paste ends }=-
MK> That *should* look different and perhaps illustrate the greater power
MK> in unlimited line lengths within messages in order to facillitate
MK> differing line lengths of various displays.

Yes, that did come up differently... The only problem for me with a line
set to wrap at greater than 80 (but not unlimited) would be that it
would show up as a regular line and then a short line, alternating... I
have my word wrap in Emacs set for 72, otherwise it would also do the
longlines, but not that useful for most of what I'm doing...

I also note that apparently you fixed the typo (assubing/assuming) in
the original iteration after doing the cut and paste jobbies... ;)

MK> In my case line the
MK> monitor I am currently using is 160 characters wide so a message that
MK> forces line lengths to 80 is a waste of an awesome terminal.

I suppose so... :) Here, the monitor is 80 characters wide, so both my
BlueWave reader and the Emacs editor can only display up to 80
characters on the screen at one time on any line.... BW handles that by
doing the automatic wrap that keeps all the characters on the screen
(since one can't move off the current screen without going to the next
message, so things would otherwise be chopped off entirely)... Emacs
will switch to the next section of the line at character 79 (and
   multiples thereof)...

NB>> We've been getting a mix of sometimes rain sometimes light snow

MK> No snow yet, light or otherwise. :-)

Nice for you.... unless you like to see the snow... ;)

NB>> Mountains tend to collect snow, though.... ;)

MK> As well as dump their loads on unsuspecting people below. As far as I
MK> know that has never happened locally.

True, avalanches are pretty scary.... never been in the close vicinity
of one of those myself, either.... :)
