   The 'n' in ncurses stands for new, where new was back in 1993.  Obviously new   
   in this case is relative to BSD curses from back in 1980-1982-ish depending on   
   which curses is considered as the base curses that all other curses evolved   
   from, including ncurses.   
      
   Probably a more traditional micro emacs would link to -ltermcap instead of   
   -lcurses except that as we speak I don't have termcap installed.  How about   
   you?
