   I heard around 800 from the mainland, with a few as far away as Ontario.    
   Rumour has it that some were calling it a paid vacation although it escapes me   
   why they would think that given the long hours and the conditions.

   For sure.  I am still amazed by it.  However I did have to throw away some   
   food but thank goodness I ddin't stock up for Christmas which many did.

   I am not betting the farm on it.  Power outages in these parts at this time of   
   year are part and parcel of life in this neck of the woods.  Usually no more   
   than 8 hours.
