   It does depend on the software, true.... I know of at least 4 that are   
   currently still being developed, and have authors that are reachable...   
   and reasonably responsive... :)  But I was also talking about past   
   softwares before they became abandonware... On a number of occasions I   
   had (and still have) a sysop who was helping to beta test some software,   
   sometimes as the main software for the bbs, and sometimes off in a more   
   private area... :)
