-=> Quoting Maurice Kinal to Nancy Backus on 02-Jun-2018 03:00 <=-

NB>> Mid June would make sense... :)

MK> That is based on roughly four weeks and change since I last spotted
MK> them doing their usual foraging routine.

You'll have to let us know when you do spot the chicks out and about...

NB>> and not venturing out much

MK> Maybe. I did see a bright red one (male) in the back just the other
MK> evening so your assessment might have some truth to it. It didn't
MK> buzz me and appeared to be concentrating on other things, such as
MK> chasing down an insect that my eyes couldn't pick up on. They sure
    MK> are speedy little critters.

   That they are.... :)

NB>> I don't suppose you have one of those sugar water feeders set out
    NB>> for them...?

MK> Almost all the neighbours have them so the local hummingbirds are more
MK> than looked after that way. Also there are more than enough wild
MK> roses etc. that are in bloom so there are natural sources of nectar.
MK> However we just went through a record dry May so I might have to pick
MK> up the slack this year. We'll see.

Maybe at least water the wild roses....? ;)

NB>> I don't expect to need to actually purchase anything in the
    NB>> meantime

    MK> Same here.  Maybe late November, and given;
NB>> I believe a friend of mine had occasion to try the Founders
NB>> Reserve, and wasn't particularly impressed with it...

MK> Okay. Thanks for the heads up. Given the price differential between
MK> it and 12yo I'll more than likely stick to the 12yo.

If you really want to try it, I would'nt stop you... But I've
pretty much figured it's just a ploy.... ;)

NB>> And from reading the box, I didn't see any reason to consider
NB>> purchasing it, even in the future...

MK> Same here except the lower cost initially was an attraction. I am
MK> glad we discussed it as it wasn't all that much cheaper so the extra
MK> couple of dollars is probably worth dishing out in this case.

I'd be more inclined to get a 10yo Glenlivet over the Founders Reserve,
   actually... ;)

MK> I'll more than likely wait until late November before taking the plunge
MK> so there is plenty of time. However I don't want to wait too long since
MK> they tend to sell out of Glenlivet just before Christmas and I'll have
MK> to settle for a substitution that I'd rather not.

That sounds like late November is good timing then, for sure... :)

   ttyl neb
