    NB>> I wouldn't mind a different countdown... like Henri, I don't
    NB>> drink beer...

MK> Also there is a conflict starting on Sep 24, 2024 where according to
MK> the 2024-11-05 cybertoast there are only 42 bottles of beer on the
MK> wall whereas the 2025-01-01 cybertoast will start it's countdown at 99
MK> bottles of beer on the wall. This conflict will carry on until Nov 6,
MK> 2024 when there will be only 56 bottles of beer on the wall. I think
MK> a shorter countdown would be the answer, if indeed we even want a
MK> countdown. I think the tagline is sufficient now that we know that it
    MK> works.

I'd think so... :) Of course, with two simultaneous countdowns, the
one to feature would be the closer one... then pick up the other when
the first event has arrived... ;) Or use two different things to count
down with... say, beer for you, milk for me... "42 bottles of beer
and 99 bottles of milk on the wall"... Could be an interesting
countdown... but of course it isn't for another 7 years or so... ;)

NB>> And it's worse farther east than we are

MK> It's headline news here in the west.

Probably now supplanted by the mudslides in California... ;) Extreme
conditions do tend to make headline news... :)

NB>> How far from you is that....?

MK> Just across the Strait, about 25kms as the crow flies, is the Fraser
MK> delta. The ice storm happened further up the valley (Abottsford) which
MK> is at a higher elevation than Vancouver proper. The latest news is
MK> there are still some customers without power as we speak. I think at
MK> it's worst there were over 100,000 customers without power for at
MK> least 24 hours after the storm hit.

Hopefully now they've all been restored.... That was a close call for
you, though... but, as you say, it was at a higher elevation....

NB>> Did you get the snow...?

MK> Some overnight but not much. Not enough to cause any grief thank
MK> goodness. The mountains sure look nice.

   Snow has its purposes... ;)
