   Hey Nancy!

    NB> I wouldn't mind a different countdown... like Henri, I don't
    NB> drink beer...

Also there is a conflict starting on Sep 24, 2024 where according to the
2024-11-05 cybertoast there are only 42 bottles of beer on the wall whereas
the 2025-01-01 cybertoast will start it's countdown at 99 bottles of beer on
the wall. This conflict will carry on until Nov 6, 2024 when there will be
only 56 bottles of beer on the wall. I think a shorter countdown would be the
answer, if indeed we even want a countdown. I think the tagline is sufficient
now that we know that it works.

MK>> Dropping the 's' from '1 days' looks and sounds better methinks.

    NB> Quite agreed... :)

Excellent. I am glad I caught it when I did.

    MK>> "Tue Jan 1 02:00:00 UTC 2019"

NB> Wouldn't that have still been 2018 in the UTC header...?

Good eye! Yes it would have. Also it should have been "Tue Jan 2 02:00:00
UTC 2018". That is what happens when hand editting while having a senior's
   moment. :-/

   ----- ':read !date --date="Mon Jan 1 21:00:00 EST 2018"' starts
   Tue Jan 2 02:00:00 UTC 2018
   ----- ':read !date --date="Mon Jan 1 21:00:00 EST 2018"' ends

Obviously Little Mikey's Brain knows what to do. However the header's format
was "02 Jan 18 02:00:00" which of course is extremely lame, not to mention
   obsolete.

NB> Offline wouldn't be updated in any case

It could be. There is nothing I've seen that stands in the way of progess
other than abandonment. I've seen speculation on a UTF-8 capable Bluewave
editor and if that is possible then why not an up to date datetime stamp
format? All the formats I am currently deploying can be created by any proper
date application the uses the strftime() function which is extremely
portable. Heck even half-assed Microsoft apps can do that! :::evil grin:::

NB> And it's worse farther east than we are

It's headline news here in the west.

NB> How far from you is that....?

Just across the Strait, about 25kms as the crow flies, is the Fraser delta.
The ice storm happened further up the valley (Abottsford) which is at a higher
elevation than Vancouver proper. The latest news is there are still some
customers without power as we speak. I think at it's worst there were over
100,000 customers without power for at least 24 hours after the storm hit.

NB> Did you get the snow...?

Some overnight but not much. Not enough to cause any grief thank goodness.
   The mountains sure look nice.

   Life is good,
   Maurice

   ... Future cybertoasts of note:
2019-01-01 is 361 days from now and falls on a Tuesday.
2024-11-05 is 2496 days from now and falls on a Tuesday.
