-=> Quoting Maurice Kinal to Nancy Backus on 03-Sep-2017 03:59 <=-               NB>> A Canadian friend in COOKING was recently given an 18yo        NB>> Glenmorangie               MK> I am jealous. That is definetly out of my league.              Actually I'm jealous, too.... out of my league as well... as well,       actually, for my friend, too... the gift was very much appreciated, but       he'd not likely be getting it on his own....               NB>> 80 CAD for a Glenlivet 15 doesn't sound bad at all               MK> A whole lot better now that you bring up Glenmorangie. I show a        MK> "GLENMORANGIE - 10 YEAR OLD THE ORIGINAL" going for 70 CAD locally so        MK> even that tends to be on the pricey side. Definetly eplains why I        MK> haven't had any for at least 20 years now. Also not showing any 18        MK> year old Glenmorangie locally so that wouldn't be an option but it        MK> does help the 18 year old Glenlivet look more attractive              Same here... ;) I think that Glenmorangie has always priced higher than       Glenlivet, or even the Macallan... It does help keep the others in       perspective... ;)               MK> although I am planning to stick with the 15 year old barring any        MK> unforseen event getting in it's way.               Sounds like a good plan.... ;)              Meanwhile, I've been at a COOKING echo Picnic, this year in MD... one       of the participants brought a sample pack of Glenmorangie... Original       10, Sherry cask 12, Port cask 12, and Sauternes cask 12... subtle       differences between the different casks used for maturing the scotch,       and all quite acceptable... but not particularly better so that I'd get       it instead of Glenlivet or Macallan.              ttyl neb              ... You can always tell when your on the right road - it's uphill.              --- EzyBlueWave V3.00 01FB001F        * Origin: Tiny's BBS - http://www.tinysbbs.com (1:229/452)    |
