   i'm not understanding your complaint then... if you are only using the mailer   
   for POTS, what's the problem with it making the call to deliver the mail? if   
   you don't want it making any phone calls and you have the IP stuff turned off,   
   why are you even running the mailer? it is useless and wasting resources...
